ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
WHAT
SANKOFA INTERNATIONAL is an organization with the mandate to provide financial assistance and/of specialized educational services for females, especially girls. Assistance is given in the following areas:
- Basic education
- High school and college education
- Health education
- Teacher education
- Vocational training
- Development education
Beneficiaries of assistance from Sankofa International are able to obtain funds to pay fees, procure school uniforms, buy books, materials and vocational training equipment, access scholarships to study overseas. At the institutional level, female high schools have benefited from scholarship funds set up in the school for the benefit of the students.
WHO
SANKOFA INTERNATIONAL programmes and activities are carried out by seasoned professionals with proven performance in various fields of human endeavor and who share a passion to support female education. There is a Board of Directors that meets twice in a year to take stock of activities and to give broad policies to guide the activities of the organization.
WHERE
SANKOFA INTERNATIONAL is headquartered in Kumasi, Ghana but it has collaborating links with several organizations in various parts of the country
COMMENDATION
SANKOFA INTERNATIONAL has received several commendations from individuals, educational institutions and District Directors of Education in Ghana
